Pedigree's Million Dog Mosaic - A great cause!

Pedigree is doing something for their PEDIGREE Adoption Drive. They have a Million Dog Mosaic on their web site.

Upload a photo of your pooch to their site and they will make a donation of $1 to The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive. Your dogs picture becomes part of a photo mosaic. Once your photo is added, they will send you an email with your dog's exact location in the mosaic. Sierra can be found by typing in the code 'sierra1'.

Is it okay to give your pug chocolate?

Most of us have heard the rule “Never give a dog chocolate because it can be deadly to the dog.” However, many may not know the truthfulness to this statement. I did not know the validity of this for a long time. Growing up, my parents would buy a bag of M&M’s every Christmas for our dog and then reward her with one or two every day or so. Since this never seemed to bother her, I always assumed that this was just a myth.

But, it is NOT a myth!

Chocolate contains a stimulant called theobromine. It's poisonous to dogs. The reason that a dog may be able to eat chocolate without any affects is that different types of chocolate contain different levels of theobromine. The amount of chocolate eaten and the size, age and health of the dog also play a factor. There are ways to determine how much of what type of chocolate is safe for your pooch. However, it is probably best to just shy away from feeding your dog any chocolate. This solution takes the guess work out calculating the right amount and keeps your dog from wanting more and more.
